FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jacob Hartmann Files Federal Lawsuit Against TrackVia, Bow River Capital, and John P. Raeder, Jr.
TRENTON, N.J. — 10 September 2026 — Jacob Hartmann today filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey against TrackVia, Inc.; Bow River Asset Management, LLC, doing business as Bow River Capital; and John P. Raeder, Jr. The complaint alleges national-origin discrimination and retaliation after a business and working relationship spanning more than a decade ended in an approximately ninety-second call. It also asserts claims concerning worker classification, compensation, contractual notice, and intellectual property. Hartmann is proceeding without a lawyer and has asked for a jury trial.
Civil Action No. 3:26-cv-11665-MAS-TJB (D.N.J.).
“I gave that company eleven years,” Hartmann said. “I brought them customers, wrote their code, built tools they used, and carried their marketing on top of it. Loyalty ran one way. When it ended, I do not believe it was about the quality of my work. I believe it was about where I live and where I come from. Eleven years. Then ninety seconds.”
Hartmann is a New Jersey native of Romanian and Eastern European ancestry. He has lived in Bucharest since 2018. The complaint alleges that after more than a decade of dealings with TrackVia, the company used him for engineering, AI, security, and FedRAMP-related work while continuing to classify him as a contractor under a marketing scope. On February 27, 2026, he put that in writing. His manager replied that the account was “100% accurate with clear evidence.” The complaint alleges that no correction followed.
At a March 20, 2026 acquisition meeting, the complaint alleges, Raeder asked whether the marketing worker was in Eastern Europe. After “Romania,” Raeder is quoted as saying: “Yeah, that’s great. Beautiful country. Probably a beautiful human being. No, all of our marketing’s going to be here.” Eleven days later, TrackVia ended the relationship.
“A person should not need a large firm to walk into an American court,” Hartmann said. “If there is a recovery in this case, I intend to put part of it toward education for families in Romania who cannot otherwise afford it.”
The allegations have not been adjudicated, and no court has made findings on the merits. The filed complaint and subsequent court filings are the official record. Updates: HartmannLitigation.com.
